Extra bits you definitely haven't seen...

Steven Moffat’s Doctor Who doesn’t do deleted scenes - except it does, we just don’t get to see them. OK, so the odd snippet ends up online but it’s far from the complete package we’re use to getting on the DVDs.

Something has changed. Season 9 has arrived in boxset form (DVD/Blu-Ray) and for the first time since 2010’s Specials set, there they are, deleted scenes! Oh wow.

There’s nothing featured from either Last Christmas or The Magician’s Apprentice, but from The Witch’s Familiar we see Missy (Michelle Gomez) escaping from the Dalek city claiming to have had a very clever idea…

Under the Lake brings the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) arriving via TARDIS, meeting a member of the underwater base team, who instinctly tells them everything they need to know about the situation… despite never having met them before.

It’s prequel/sequel (it’s complicated) Before the Flood has an extended conversation between the Doctor and Paul Kaye’s Prentis that sets up events, before ending on a rather melancholic note - “I forgive you” indeed.

The Girl Who Died has Maisie Williams’ Ashildr showing Clara and the Doctor scrolls detailing Odin’s history of her people. It’s a longer take than we’ve seen previous, and involves a neck malfunction, and talk of Danny Pink.

Next up, The Woman Who Lived offers an extended scene of the Doctor looking through Ashildr’s diaries. It mixes flashbacks with the ‘cliffhanger’ ending from The Girl Who Died. It feels a tad more emotional than what we actually got to see on TV. We also get to see the Doctor interact with Ashildr at another point in her history - in passing, during the dark days of the plague.

Another scene from the same episode sees hints of a romance between Ashildr and her monster companion, Leandro.

The last clip from The Woman Who Lived features the Doctor trying to talk his way out of being taken to the hangman’s noose - by revealing he’s actually undercover for Scotland Yard (which he isn’t sure even exists at this point in history) and offering to beat the £20 reward on his head.

For The Zygon Invasion there is a short clip of Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) walking down the street on her phone, and another of Clara leaving home (this last one probably deleted as the footage is a little too shaky!).

Auntie Vi leaves a couple of voice mails for Clara in the third and final clip from The Zygon Invasion.

The Doctor is glad he’s not a baddie in The Zygon Inversion (due to the smell of their hangouts) and in Sleep No More a monster stomps down a corridor.

Rigsy (Joivan Wade) mentions Derren Brown in a Face the Raven clip. Then, from what’s presumably the end of the episode, he goes home in tears.

Meanwhile Heaven Sent brings a few extended sequences of the Doctor in the castle, noticing clues that we missed on original broadcast. He reveals he was “young and telepathic” once!

Unfortunately there is nothing extra from Hell Bent, although The Husbands of River Song has the Doctor make a further request about that hotel build on Darillium…

There we have it. All in, it’s 25 minutes and 17 seconds of unseen content. Nothing essential from the mix, or particularly memorable, but it’s still nice to know that we have everything included this time. Thank you Mr Moffat!

Doctor Who: The Complete Ninth Season is out now on DVD (R.R.P. £34.99) and Blu-Ray (R.R.P. £39.99).

Every episode can also be purchased digitally from the new BBC Store.

The first clip of Jeremy Clarkson and Co’s new motor show has hit the internet.

The first sneak peek clip of the new motoring show with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May has been shared online.

Jeremy Clarkson, who previously hosted BBC show Top Gear, but was let go after being dropped from the BBC, can be seen driving a monster truck/Mercedes hybrid in the clip.

Richard Hammond and James May, who also previously presented Top Gear, but packed it in after Clarkson was fired, have been filming the new show for months.

Elsewhere, the new re-boot of BBC show Top Gear, presented by Chris Evans and Matt Leblanc, is also rumoured to be in talks with Netflix to bag a streaming deal.

The still un-named motoring show, presented by Clarkson, May and Hammond will debut on Amazon Prime- the date is yet unknown, but is expected to be announced very soon!

Trai Byers who plays Andre Lyon on the hit television series Empire, reportedly wants to leave the show.

Sources say that the excitement he first had when receiving the role has vanished due to feeling that his character lacks development. An inside rep stated that “At first, being on ‘Empire’ was major for him. But he feels his character is not as important this season, and he hates not being the star.”

Byers is frustrated because he feels that he possesses the acting power of on screen parents Taraji P. Henson (who plays Cookie Lyon) and Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon).

Another report shares that:

“He feels that he studied at Yale and he’s a ‘true thespian’ . . . The character is beneath him. He has an idea of himself as being this big Shakespearean actor.”

Trai Byers threw a number of tantrums on and off set and telling crew members that he doesn’t get to do enough and that he might leave. Fed up producers of Empire explained that they would be more than willing to let him go as to call his bluff on his threats. Since the show is in its last week of shooting for Season 3, he has not quit nor has been fired, but who knows what will happen if the show is renewed for a forth season.

It’s defiantly a pool of actors in Hollywood who would love to replace him as the role of Andre Lyon if producers want to keep the character and they’re just waiting for Byers to slip up for the last time.

House of Cards stars think Donald Trump is scarier than Frank Underwood.

Stars from the hit American politics drama House of Cards have confessed that they think Donald Trump is scarier than the show’s fictional president Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey).

Anybody that is a fan of House of Cards will know that the statement is a huge declaration against Donald Trump, taking into account that the show’s lead Frank Underwood is a murderous, calculating and utterly ruthless man.

Actor Michael Kelly, who plays Doug Stamper on the show also said that he would prefer Frank Underwood being the real president of the United States than Donald Trump.

When the actor was questioned in an interview about who he thought was scarier out of Frank Underwood and Donald Trump, he instantly responded with Donald Trump.

He also said: “Trump is actually, really, truly being considered by a large number of people in our country and it is becoming scary.”

In another interview, Kelly said he was confident Frank Underwood (Spacey) and Doug Stamper (Kelly) would be able to take Trump down (I’d certainly back Underwood! #TeamUnderwood ).

Speaking to The International Business times, Kelly said: “Donald Trump in general is scary as sh*t, but that being said, Frank and Doug would take his a*se down in a fight. I don’t like Donald Trump.”

Those aren’t the only strong words to be said against Trump from House of Cards stars. Newbie Neve Campbell and Kevin Spacey have also said their piece.

New star of the show Neve Campbell, known for starring in Scream said “It’s really scary. My biggest fear is that Trump will triumph” The star confessed in an interview with The Huffington Post.

Campbell, who is joining the 4th season as Texan Political aide Leann Harvey said she would move back to Canada if Donald Trump was made president of America.

Kevin Spacey also made a joke about his feelings towards Trump, although the actor was careful not to get too involved with conversation about Trump and his presidential campaign.

When asked if he thought his character, Frank Underwood would support Trump in his presidential campaign, he said: “He’d get behind just to shove him” Spacey also added “I don’t think so, no.”

Season 4 of House of Cards will be available to watch on Netflix from Friday 4th March.

Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won his first Oscar for his role in The Revenant.

Leonardo DiCaprio has at long last won his first Oscar for his brilliant performance in the epic The Revenant, after his sixth nomination for an award at The Oscars.

The Revenant, a survival drama about frontiersman Hugh Glass who sets out for revenge after he is left for dead, after surviving a vicious attack by a bear, won 3 out of the 12 awards it was nominated for.

The smash hit movie won: Best Director (Ajeandro Inarritu) and Best Cinematography, where Emmaual Lubezki won his third Oscar in a row for his Cinematography work, in 2015 winning with Birdman and winning with Gravity in 2014.

The big winner of the night though was Mad Max: Fury Road, which was nominated for a total of 10 Oscar’s and took home an impressive 6 awards in the technical categories. It took home the awards for: costume design, production design, hair and makeup, editing, sound editing and sound mixing.

It was also a good night for British talent, Mark Rylance surprisingly won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Bridge of Spies, Jenny Bevan, who was described as a “bag lady” by Stephen Fry at The Bafta’s won an award for her work on Mad Max: Fury Road and another surprise win was Sam Smith’s victory with his song “Writing’s On The Wall” for Spectre.

Meanwhile, outside the venue, a small protest was led by Reverend Al Sharpton gathered outside of The Dolby Theatre, where The Oscar’s were hold, in order to make their feelings heard about this year’s ceremony, although the ceremony passed with less incidents than initially anticipated.

This year’s host Chris Rock also had plenty of jokes up his sleeve about the all-white nominees for a second year in a row at the prestigious annual awards. The ceremony opened with Chris Rock addressing the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.

Rock immediately got straight to the point and said: “You’re damn right, Hollywood’s racist”. But the comedian also made fun of this year’s boycotters of the ceremony. Sacha Baron Cohen was also thrown into the mix as his character Ali G, saying he was representing all of the people who had been overlooked.

When taking to the stage, he said: “I’m representing all those who have been overlooked: Will Smith, Idris Elbow and of course, the amazing black bloke from Star Wars, Darth Vader.”

Another appearances of the night included performances from Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Dave Grohl and a very moving and inspiring performance from Lady Gaga.

After two years in the wilderness, the flatmates of 28 Hartnell Avenue on Fresh Meat returned to our screens as they are now in their final year. Before the group embark on a hectic schedule of trying to fulfil deadlines, they decide to have one last blowout.

At the beginning of the episode we are introduced to JP’s older and more serious brother, Tomothy (yes, a portmanteau of Tom and Timothy), who slightly resembles David Cameron in his Oxford years. He tries to whip the students into shape with his rather choice words of wisdom.

The gang are more or less in the same position as when we last saw them: Vod is still living a hedonistic lifestyle as her debt is increasing by the second. Howard is still rather socially inept as he now lives in the cellar (Unbeknown to his flatmates) and is unaware that his girlfriend Candice has dumped him, until Josie has to spell it out for him. Josie still remains the optimist out of the group while her ex, Kingsley is now resorting to eating American cereals to make himself seem more interesting.

JP is still an oblivious toff who thinks that Scotland went independent as the group are concerned with the disappearance of Howard. Oregon’s now infatuated with her position as the president of the student union that she is now giving ‘inspiring’ talks to fellow third-year students and has also written a book in the process titled, The Short Walk to Freedom. A twist on Nelson Mandela’s Long Walk to Freedom.

The show is still as humorous as ever and the vast diversity of the characters helps that to an extent. There are many good one-liners particularly from Jack Whitehall (JP). In reference to Howard’s disappearing act; “He’s probably up in Aberdeen. Sat on a trident, bathing in the Queen’s oil.” However I do believe that it is the right time to call it quits as the show is not quite as ripe as the first series that debuted 5 years ago.

The official trailer to House of Cards season 4 kicks things up a gear.

If you have never seen House of Cards (Seasons 1-3 available on Netflix), then I highly advise you to go and watch it. But hurry up, because Season 4 is set to hit Netflix soon, and if the trailer is anything to go by, then you certainly don’t want to miss it!

The trailer to the Emmy award-winning Netflix original drama shows tension between Frank Underwood, U.S President played by the sensational Kevin Spacey and his wife Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright as they appear to go head-to-head in a brutal battle.

The trailer alone is enough to get you hooked on this absolutely brilliant show, with a fiery, thrilling and tense fast paced montage of high octane and dark shots - you definitely don’t want to miss the tiniest detail!

The main focus of the minute long clip is the stern words exchanged between Claire and Frank. In the trailer, Claire is heard saying “I saw a future, our future.” To which Frank responds “We had a future until you started destroying it.” Boy, this doesn’t sound good!

House-of-Cards-307480

Kevin Spacey’s very brutal and power hungry Frank Underwood can also be heard at the start of the trailer saying “You have no idea what it means to have nothing. You don’t value what we have achieved.” So it is certainly business as usual, with a number of twists and turns along the way.

This Netflix gem is certainly not one to miss out on. Check out the trailer to season 4 (Released on March 4th) and see what you think!

Today it seems the world has stopped and Harry Potter fans all over the globe are going mad with passion! J.K. Rowling has announced that with the help of some big people the eighth instalment of Harry Potter will be out and in stores to buy on 31st July this year. The new book is titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Does this mean Harry is making an appearance, maybe the cursed child is Harry? One thing’s certain, J.K. doesn’t give up all her cards in one go and she loves to keep the readers and fans guessing!

There are many questions behind this new instalment however. Will they be better then the first seven? Will the old cast make a return and will it be turned into another blockbusting epic movie? One thing is for sure, fans worldwide will have to wait for such information and maybe even longer to know if a film is in the making. I myself cannot wait for the books to hit the shelves after I was glued to the first 7!

It seems the book is not the only thing being released, a play script will also be released around the same time giving theatres time to get the play into motion and give fans even more. See a full story on the instalment here through pottermore.

Thanks for reading and I hope and pray that you are as excited about this next AMAZING instalment like I am!

Former Friends star is set to co-present Top Gear

Yes, that’s right… American actor Matt LeBlanc, best known for playing Joey in the U.S sitcom Friends will join Chris Evans to present the new series of Top Gear on BBC2.

The news of the new presenter was revealed on the official BBC2 Twitter page this morning (Thursday 4th February) along with a snap of the new presenters posing with The Stig.

Matt LeBlanc will be the first non-British host of the show, since it started in 1977. The former Friends star has also appeared on the show twice and as it stands, currently sits at the top of ‘The Star in the Reasonably Priced Car’ leader board.

The choice to have LeBlanc on board with the new series, which is set to relaunch in May, is already proving a good choice as people are already talking about how excited they are to see LeBlanc in action - and so is the man himself!

When asked about his new presenting role, Matt LeBlanc said “As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honoured and excited to be part of this iconic shows new chapter - What a thrill!”

The BBC have also confirmed that they will be revealing additional Top Gear cast members very soon.

The former One Direction member has dropped out of yet another interview.

Rumours and concerns are being raised about former One Direction member Zayn Malik as he drops out of a second public interview in the space of a week.

Zayn Malik, who released his first solo single last week, was scheduled to be on Radio 1 with Greg James, but cancelled the interview 45 minutes before he was due to go on air.

The singer’s no show left numerous fans devastated as they waited outside the Radio 1 studio in hope to meet their idol.

Malik also left people talking after he cancelled his first TV appearance since leaving One Direction on The Graham Norton Show last week.

The former One Direction heartthrob was due to appear on The Graham Norton Show on Friday 29th January, the day his single ‘Pillowtalk’ was released, but pulled out due to ‘scheduling issues’.

His rep announced “Unfortunately there was a scheduling conflict as Zayn is currently in the studio completing his album.”

Piers Morgan also added his opinion on the matter on Good Morning Britain this morning (Tuesday 2nd February). The controversial TV presenter blasted Malik on a segment of the breakfast show.

He said “I interviewed them all for a YouTube thing 2 years ago before he left the band, he just surly the entire time” He also added “I thought if you don’t want to be a popstar, go and do something else. Go and clean drains.”

He also added “Now he’s being deliberately rude to people… Being rude, being difficult. Get over yourself mate!”

Maybe Zayn’s next interview should be on Good Morning Britain, that would be interesting!
