Channel 5 faces Ofcom investigation after McKenzie remarks
Channel 5 face Ofcom investigation after CBB star causes controversy
Channel 5 will face an Ofcom investigation after receiving over 150 complaints when Celebrity Big Brother star, Winston McKenzie, openly made homophobic comments during the shows launch night on Tuesday.
Winston McKenzie, an Ex-UKIP candidate, has also previously made homophobic comments before entering the house. He compared same-sex child adoption to child abuse and also spoke of his dismay on Kellie Maloney being transgender.
McKenzie was met with a chorus of boos when he made his way up to the Big Brother house through the crowd attending the launch night of the hit show, after a comment he made during his VT.
During his VT, he said that he would cope with living with homosexual housemates by keeping his back against the wall. He said “I could cope with a homosexual in the house- I guess. I’ll just have to and with my back against a brick wall all the time.”
After the launch show, Ofcom announced that they had received over 150 complaints about Big Brother and will assess these complaints before they decide whether to investigate or not.
