Is North West a fashion icon?

So as North West turns 2 years old is she really more stylish then all of us put together?

I am nearly 30 years old and I still dream of the day I can sit front row at a fashion show next to fashion royalty, Anna Wintour, however for North West this happened at the grand old age of 18 months old!!

I look at pictures of her on social media and find myself lusting after her outfits wondering if I can get them made into a size 16/18 so I can strut around my home town wearing them. Then I look at the pictures again and think why am I so jealous of a toddler… well I will tell you why..

The Balmain Jacket

The jackets were custom made for North so that she could match her equally stylish mummy Kim Kardashian. Each jacket costs whopping $2,500, and of course North has three. She can normally be found wearing them on her way to ballet classes teamed up with a tutu! For me the closest I have to the Balmain jacket is a “pleather” bomber jacket from New Look!

Givenchy Dress

Not only was North at Paris Fashion Week she also had this custom made Givenchy dress given to her to again replicate Kim’s front row look. North even worked the dress with black dr. marten boots. The dress came under criticism for its sheer panels due to the fact that North was only 16 months old - but I think like me - they were just jealous that they didn’t have a custom made Givenchy gown! I tried to replicate the look with a sheer maxi dress from River Island but it was really no Givenchy.

Fake Fur Coat

Your nearly two years old your going on a day trip with you mum what do you wear, that’s right a fur coat. Rumoured to cost around $3.5k the fur coat is the ultimate style accessory and thank god it’s not real fur as North would have gone right down in the style stakes. She even manages to accessorise the coat with cute cat pumps!! The closest I’ve ever come to a fake fur coat was one my Grandma gave me during the height of the Spice Girls…..I think I wore it once then the family cat decided to steal it and use it as a bed!!

So for a little girl who’s wardrobe houses the worlds top fashion houses and designers I think it’s safe to say she has become an unusual style icon not only for the toddlers at the local playgroup but also for a fashion loving twenty something like me!

Im off to try and get Kim and Kanye to adopt me so I can get some Balmain in my wardrobe….or maybe I should just wait until the Balmain H&M collection drops…..
