Is instant coffee really that bad?

A lot of us love coffee and can`t start a day without it. It`s like a fuel that keeps us going. When it comes to instant coffee, society perceived that it`s actually pure chemicals. I decided to find out how is instant coffee really made and can it affect your health?

How it is made?

Instant coffee is really made out of natural coffee beans, which is a good start. Coffee beans get roasted and grounded, just like making real coffee. After that grounded coffee is put in special containers and washed with hot water under big pressure, to get strong coffee extract. When it`s done, coffee extract gets either frozen or heated.

Freezing is most popular because it gives coffee more natural taste and smell. The last step towards instant coffee is to freeze dry it. Coffee is put in special vacuum container where all all ice turns into water and evaporate. So no chemicals here.

Why does it tastes different?

Although it`s made out of natural coffee beans, instant coffee still tastes not quite like real coffee. It is because of all heating or freezing process, and don`t have that significant smell to it.

Instant coffee is good for people who are having a heart disease

Instant coffee doesn’t have any diterpenes, which are compounds responsible for increasing cholesterol levels. Also, instant coffee is less rich in caffeine. Of course caffeine levels may vary, depending on how strong you like your coffee or how much coffee you drink on a daily basis. Specialists say that you can drink up to 3 cups of coffee per day without doing any harm to your health.

So after all instant coffee is not really that harmful and even has some good things in it. It is up to you which one you prefer.
