Did Sony win E3?
Last night Sony rocked E3 with a new concept...good games!
A dark room, a horde of Sony fans, a figure walks onto the stage poised to bring the world some earth shattering news. The lights go up and we are told about a game coming out next year that has been in the works for seven years!
That’s right, The Last Guardian is confirmed, a game where you play as a child with his trained bird-dog hybrid in a Avatar: The Last Airbender-esqe world filled with monasteries and landscapes taken from the pages of Asian myths and legends. But it didn’t stop there.

Across the next hour, we were presented with game after game from every third party developer. Media Molecule, creators of Little Big Planet, with their amazing design tool Dreams was an instant talking point for fans of the family friendly aspect of the console. Sony also swung another winning blow with Guerrilla Games and their new intellectual property, Horizon: Zero Dawn, a game in which you play as a tribal survivor in a post-apocalyptic world filled with hulking metal beasts.

The new game series look amazing and will no doubt cause some console buyers to further consider buying a Playstation 4 but Sony had a final ace in the hole. Exclusive content and early access. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Arkham Knight and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate may be the three biggest games to come out in the next six months and each of them showed their support for the Playstation 4 with content available for the console.

Assassin’s Creed released a series of missions based on ‘the greatest mystery writer in Victorian England’ which can only mean an Assassin-Sherlock crossover. Call of Duty announced that all map packs would be available first on the Playstation 4 and Arkham Knight announced exclusive dlc for the console. The trio of third party support immediately put the PlayStation 4 streaks ahead of the other consoles on the market.

It was at this point that Sony did a victory lap showing a reel of all the games coming to Playstation 4 across the next year that perfectly demonstrated why it was the market leader. The press conference ended with Uncharted 4 which, after a minor technical issue, showed off a long chase scene taken straight from Indiana Jone’s fantasies through a Mediterranean market town. All in all it was a Sony slam dunk and it looks like Microsoft are going to be loosing a lot of fans in the next year.
