Maybe you should watch E3 this year

A guide to which E3 presentation you should be watching.

E3 is about to kick off, that means in just under two weeks the gaming and pop culture community as a whole will descend upon a conference centre and decide the fate of the gaming market for the next year. It’s an opportunity for game developers to get up on the world stage and show what they have got. It’s always a spectacle and but this year is heating up to be something really special.

The only problem is E3 is vast. The conference encompasses the entire video game community and that means there is a lot to see and watch. There is little coverage on TV so it’s worth finding a good Twitch or Youtube feed (I would recommend IGN’s but there are many good quality competitors).

This is the schedule of major events British times from www.Ign.com (view original article here):

Bethesda June 15th 3am
Microsoft June 15th 5:30pm
EA June 15th 9:00pm
Ubisoft June 15th 11:00pm
Sony June 16th 2:00am
Nintendo June 16th 6:00pm
Square Enix June 16th 6pm

Between each of these events there will be a series of smaller press conferences and events from all around the conference that will be covered by various press outlets. Needless to say it’s all incredibly exciting but there are a few highlights to watch out for.

Microsoft and Sony

Both companies are competing to bring out virtual reality headsets at a high quality and for a reasonable price. There has been no word as of yet whether this technology will feature during either companies presentations but it’s fair to assume that at least one company is going to whip out the googles at some point. Each company are also struggling to win over the general public with their consoles so it will be interesting to look at what games they are leading with over the next year. Expect titles that will blow you away, such as Star Wars Battlefront and Halo 5.

Nintendo

Nintendo don’t do a presentation, they do a tree house presentation. This is an hour long presentation were Nintendo use everything from actors to music videos in an effort to advertise their new games and last year it stole the show. With the promise of a new Starfox game and several other mystery goodies in the tree house this is one you don’t want to miss.Watch Nintendo tease new Starfox game:

Bethesda

There is going to be a new game from Bethesda, it has been confirmed to be Fallout 4. If this means nothing to you, it’s like Peter Jackson doing another Titanic or a new Beatles album being discovered. It’s going to be huge and will either delight and enrage the gaming community but either ways it’s going to be one amazing show.Watch Fallout 4 trailer:
