The Dukan Diet
So the time has come to hit the diets and shed the Christmas weight which will have been put on despite everyone’s best efforts. What is the most effective way to lose the weight? What way takes the least amount of time and equally the least amount of effort? Let me tell you.
The Dukan Diet may be criticised by many, but at the same time it is used by many more. The diet in a quick summary is difficult to maintain over a long period but works wonders, I myself managed to lose over 3 stone in just over 2 months, but that was hard-core. The first phase in the Dukan diet is to eat meat, yes you heard me; only meat. I essentially only ate chicken, bacon, beef and the occasional lamb burger; you don’t have to just stick to meat however, because you are allowed a table spoon of bran flakes every morning to keep your body in check.
It might sound a little drastic; but at the end of the day the results can be seen after the first two weeks! I would suggest weighing every Monday in the morning naked and after your toilet break. If you love bacon though this is the diet for you, 6 pieces of bacon for breakfast and a chicken for dinner; what isn’t to like!
The picture above are to show the great guidelines and most people stick to it, however I did the first phase for 2 months because I wanted to lose a lot, the first phase can be changed depending on how much you want to lose. Remember you don’t have to want to lose loads of weight to diet and it all depends on how much you want to lose personally.
Let us break down the pros and cons:

- Minimal effort
Cons
- Expensive
- Bad breath due to weight loss, least you know it works.
- You have to buy new clothes.

There is both a Dukan Diet website and book that lays out very clearly what the diet entails including what you can and can’t eat, portion sizes and the length of time you should remain in each phase in relation to your weight loss goal.
