Oh well, we might as well watch that press conference again then. See it all here...

The hotly anticipated heavyweight world title bout between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury, due to take place on 24th October, has been postponed due to the Russian champ sustaining a calf injury.

This will come as a blow to Fury, who was due to have his first shot at the championship next month. Fury had benefited in a huge upswing of interest after his antics in their recent press conference where he turned up dressed as Batman, defeated The Joker and then went on to berate Klitschko and the media.

If you haven’t seen it, you really should:

The current WBA Super, WBO and IBF belt holder Klitschko returned to Austria after Wednesday fun and circus-like press conference.

Speaking about his disappointment he said: Klitschko said: “Especially after the exciting press conference last Wednesday, I was looking forward to this fight very much. I know that a lot of fans have already organised their trips to support me in Dusseldorf.

“I am so sorry that I am not able to fight on October 24. I also apologise to my opponent, who has spent many weeks preparing for this fight. I will do my very best to recover as fast as possible.”

Fury, also known as the Gypsy King, had this to say on Twitter:

A new date will be announced next week.
