Uniform, the unchanging form of character
How much can you tell about the uniform you wear?
We live in a world where a uniform can determine someone’s personality and it can show a certain symbol of discipline, an order, or structure to keep us in line. A uniform can make a person, it can give them a stable way of living.
A uniform is not a simple part of clothing. With each and every part of it, it holds a past and has soon yet to write a future. A uniform can be unwavering, stable and steady with every step you take. A uniform can be a trademark - a logo to sponsor or support a certain company or product. A uniform can be rewarding because of all the hard work you went through to get you to this very moment. It can be inspiring to others, a chance to protect, to save and to prolong the route of justice.
There are times where a uniform can just be a costume, and I don’t mean the ones you buy to wear at a party, I mean a costume you wear to become someone else. To hide the fact that the uniform is just an outfit, it’s just a disguise because you can’t face who you are.
A uniform means more than people really think they do. It brings hope, a dream they can reach to wear such a uniform is a blessing. We should thank the police for their service, be blessed for the doctors and nurses and the paramedics for saving our lives everyday and we should be grateful that we have people all around the world who are fighting for us - for our freedom, education, lifestyle.
All of these things come down to a uniform, a union that brings people together. A union of a real future.
“The way that people dress makes them part of an army, dressed in their own uniform, determined to do something.”
- Suzy Menkes
