London as we know it
What keeps London ticking
So last week I spent a considerable amount of time in London, our great capital, not just of England it can be forgotten, but of the United Kingdom.
And it got me thinking. It is home to so many different cultures and diversities that without them, it would not function as we know it today. There has obviously been a wide debate about the recent threat of immigration and all arguments are justified. For me though, just one relatively short trip brought everything home.
I am on the side of more control, however appreciate how much of this immigration actually helps the country to run. We would not have the NHS, a fantastic range of restaurants and drivers to actually run London Transport if it were not for our very own expatriates. So next time you visit London everyone, stop for 30 seconds, take a look around you, and take in all the components which make our capital what it is today.
