Met Gala 2015: The best dressed
Take a look at the best dressed celebrities at the 2015 Met Gala.
Last night New York City played host to the most glamorous event of the year, the Met Gala. The Met Gala is one of the most hotly anticipated fashion events of the year due to the extravagant and formal gowns that the celebrities, designers and socialites wear to the $25,000 per ticket event, held at the Museum of Modern Art.
This years theme was “China: Through the Looking Glass” and so the guests wore outfits inspired by the theme… well they were supposed to anyway. There’s no doubt that this years outfits were fabulous and there’s so many to choose from, but I’ve narrowed it down to the best dressed guests last night.
Here’s the list:
1. Amal Alamuddin-Clooney
Amal wore a brilliant red leath and sequinned bodice gown with a ruffles skirt. The dress was a Maison Margiela couture gown by John Galliano.
2. Rihanna
Rihanna wore a show stopping, long trained mustard yellow satin and fur coat, wrapped around her covering her dress beneath. This was the creation of Chinese couturier Guo Pei.
3. Beyoncé
Queen Bey definitely takes the award for the most revealing dress. She wore a sheer and carefully places sequin Givenchy dress.
4. Jessica Chastain
Jessica went old school Hollywood glamour in a stunning gold metallic plunging dress by Givenchy.
5. Kerry Washington
Kerry truly was the belle of the ball in this gorgeous soft pink silk princess gown by Prada.
Never one to shy away from being revealing, Kim also wore a dress that was sheer and embellishments. Fortunately this dress is gorgeous and seems to have broke the curse of the ‘couch dress’ which has followed her around since 2013. The snowy creation was by Roberto Cavalli.
Jennifer kept it simple but sexy in a black and floral cut out dress by Christian Dior.
8. Lorde
The New Zealand singer broke away from her usual black outfits to wear this stunning sequinned Calvin Klein number.
9. Anne Hathaway
Anne became little ‘gold’ riding hood in this fairytale-sequel gold body skimming dress by Ralph Lauren.
10. Amanda Seyfried
Amanda looked innocently beautiful in this white choker neck dress by Givenchy.
11. Alison Brie
The Community actress wowed in a purple sequinned Prabal Gurung gown.

12. Katy Perry
Katy chose a 80’s prom style dress by Moschino, the same dress that closed the Moschino show at Paris Gashion Week in February this year.
13. Keri Russell
Keri chose this stunning emerald feathered Altuzarra gown with exception detailing.
14. Helen Mirren
Helen proves once again that age doesn’t prevent you from being stylish. Helen chose a red laser-cut Dolce and Gabbana dress that even gave a sneak peak of her red lingerie.
15. Diana Agron
The Glee star wore a classic and elegant asymmetrical Maggie Q dress.

16. Kendall Jenner
This was Kendall’s second Met Gala, last year she wore a elegant champagne coloured Topshop gown, this year she went for a more sexy look. Kendall chose a emerald green, sequinned dress with cut-outs at the side. The dress is by Calvin Klein, Kendall is the face of their “My Calvins” campaign.

17. Claire Danes
The Homeland star went for a more daring look with this dark green gathered Valentino gown with a black leather belt.
18. Dakota Johnson
Last year Dakota attended her first Met Gala in a navy Jason Wu gown, but this year the Fifty Shades actress chose to sex things up in a 60’s mod silver mini dress by Chanel.
19. Gigi Hadid
The up and coming model chose a red plunging neckline dress by Diane Von Furstenburg.
20. Karlie Kloss
Karlie modelled in the Versace show at Milan fashion week in February, so naturally she chose to wear a black embellished Versace number to the gala last night.
21. Hailee Steinfeld
The American actress chose a classic red design by Michael Kors.
Who was your best dressed at this years Met Gala?
Too much fuss made about Rihanna. I think Dakota Johnson looked hot!
