Is Chris Hemsworth father of the year?

You may know Chris Hemsworth as the all action hero that plays the Scandinavian demigod Thor in The Avengers movies. Due to his on screen persona you may be excused for not seeing him for the family man he is in his private life.

However, Hemsworth is the proud father of three children, India Rose, three and twin brothers Tristan and Sasha of 21 months. Despite being part of the Hollywood elite, Hemsworth admits that he is at his most happiest when he is playing his favourite lead role, as dad.

Describing a moment between himself and his daughter he spoke about the moment he realised that the relationship between child and parent can be a two way thing:

“There’s the idea that we as parents spend all this time protecting our children - No, I think they’re protecting us. Sitting in the car with my head on her lap and her singing to me, there was this understanding of, ‘Wow, she’s looking after Dad, and that’s her job.’ You know? And that was such a joy.

“I looked at my wife, who was in the front seat, and she had tears in her eyes, he said of the moment which he described as ‘the happiest moment of my life.”

Talking ahead of the release of his latest film In The Heart Of The Sea’s, the Australian actor spoke fondly of how he intends to raise his children with basic and grounded values despite being surrounded by the trappings of fame and fortune.

This guy is a hero on and off screen. Sounds like a contender for father of the year don’t you agree?
