The 1975 join Radio 1’s Big Weekend

The 1975 and Jake Bugg have officially been confirmed for Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

The British alternative rock band, The 1975 have joined the list of performers at this year’s Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter, Devon.

The popular band, who are known for their hits such as “Girls” will be joining the likes of other performers including Bring Me The Horizon, Chase and Status, Craig David, Ellie Goulding and Coldplay.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend is Europe’s largest free ticketed festival, with the majority of attendees being from the surrounding areas. Last year, The Big Weekend was held in Norwich with Taylor Swift and The Foo Fighters among the performers.

Jake Bugg has also been revealed to be a part of the line-up of performers this year. Bugg, who’s new album ‘On My One’ is set to be released in June this year will take to the stage on May 28-29 at Powderham Castle in Exeter, Devon.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend will be broadcast live on Radio 1 with highlights being shown on Radio 1 Xtra. Additionally, all performances at this year’s Big Weekend will be available to watch on Radio 1’s channel on BBC Iplayer.
